El Proyecto Ticosonde/TC4 2007

Ticosonde/TC4 es un programa intensivo, durante la estación lluviosa, para sondear la atmósfera sobre Centro America basado al aeropuerto internacional Juan Santamaria en Alajuela, Costa Rica y consiste en dos programas de lanzamientos hasta la stratósfera media: las radiosondas de resolución alta y frecuencia alta y los sondeos con un higrometro criogenico del punto de congelación (CFH) y un ozonosondeo ECC. Los lanzamientos de Ticosonde apoyan las medidas de la misión Tropical Composition, Clouds and Climate Coupling (TC4) de la NASA y validan las medidas de la satelite Aura y otros de EOS de la NASA.

Ticosonde/TC4 is a program of intensive balloonsonde observations of the atmosphere over Central America during the wet season, with ascents to the middle stratosphere at Juan Santamaria International Airport at Alajuela, Costa Rica. It consists of a program of high-resolution radiosonde ascents two- and four-times daily and a parallel program of launches of payload containing the University of Colorado Cryogenic Frostpoint Hygrometer (CFH) and the ECC ozonesonde. Ticosonde ascents in part support the NASA Tropical Composition, Clouds and Climate Coupling (TC4) airborne mission and will provide validation of measurements on board the Aura and other NASA EOS satellites.
