GPM IMERG precipitation plots are generated using GPM IMERG Early Precipitation L3 Half Hourly 0.1°x0.1° V06. The IMERG system is run twice in near-real time, and we use "early" precipitation. The "early" multi-satellite product ~4 hr after observation time uses forward morphing and it is combined with microwave precipitation-calibrated geo-IR fields to provide half-hourly precipitation estimates on a 0.1°x0.1° (roughly 10x10 km) grid over the globe.
The complete calibrated houly precipitation (precipitationCal) is plotted over ACCLIP region and regridded into 0.25°x0.25° . The plots are generated around ~1 UTC each day. Movies of GPM precipitation are generated from ~7 days before the currnt time to ~6 hourly before the currnt time (UTC).
The plots are available ~6 hours before the current time.
Please contact us if you have any question regarding the plots and dataset.
